Are you a newcomer to Canada with a story you want to share? Do you want to develop and strengthen your creative writing skills? Join Anne C. Kelly for this four-week course to build basic English writing skills and explore the principles of creative writing. The course will include writing exercises, sharing with other learners, and a chance to create and edit the story you want to tell. Classes will be held via Zoom.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Anne C. Kelly has taught English-as-an-additional-language for more than 20 years and currently works as a language assessor in Halifax. She has personal experience in both teaching writing and being a writer. Her novel, Jacques’ Escape, was published by Trap Door Books in 2019 after many years of writing, editing, and rewriting. She enjoys sharing her story and working closely with newcomers.
Location: Writers’ Federation of Nova Scotia (online with Zoom)
Dates of 4-week workshop: Saturdays, Feb. 6 + Feb. 13 + Feb. 20 + Feb. 27 (9:30am to 11:30am)
Registration for this workshop is open to Newcomers to Canada, regardless of immigration or residency status. The workshop is free.
