Scary Stories is an oral storytelling series held late each October in the Victorian Drawing Room of Dalhousie University’s Shirreff Hall. Despite Shirreff Hall’s alleged haunting by the ghost of Penelope, series attendance has reached venue capacity each year.

On October 24, Scary Stories featured storytellers Cindy Campbell-Stone, Liz Newkirk, and Steve Vernon. The event was free to attend.
2018
On October 25, Scary Stories featured storytellers Cindy Campbell-Stone, Dan Conlin, Shirley Godfrey, and Josh MacDonald. They were followed by an open mic for chilling-but-true tales. The event was free to attend.
