• Biography

    Nancy Wilcox Richards is a retired elementary teacher with 35 years of classroom experience and has been a published author for over 25 years.  She writes the best-selling Canadian picture book series, Farmer Joe, as well as beginning chapter books for young readers about bullying, overcoming adversity and building friendships.   Her books have been translated into French, Spanish, Chinese and Norwegian. She finds inspiration for many of her stories from everyday life events and her own children. The recipient of the "New Ways to Teach Award", she also authored Thoughts in My Pocket, a writing resouce for elementary teachers.  She presents at conferences, libraries and conducts workshops. Nancy resides with her husband on an absolutely perfect lake on the beautiful South Shore of Nova Scotia .
