Tyne Brown

Tyne's love of children's literature began as a child when she first heard stories by writers such as A.A. Milne, Beatrix Potter and H.C. Anderson. Her poetry has appeared in publications by the award-winning Cricket Magazine Group, Children's Better Health Institute and several other individual publications.

As part of her career she developed many different educational programs for museums, libraries and day cares as well as for hospital, university and health care services. Tyne is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia. She currently serves on the steering committee of the Nova Scotia Children's Literature Roundtable. One of Tyne's favourite activities is teaching. "There's nothing more satisfying than to see children immerse themselves in poetry and discover that they like it."

Tyne holds degrees from Dalhousie, McGill and Tufts Universities.
