Richard L. Provencher

Richard was born in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, where his love of the woods and contemporary issues form the basis of his writing. Lately he is focusing on poetry. To Richard, writing poetry is a global adventure in a land without borders. Working with Aboriginals, Social Service clients and Seniors is crucial to his writing.

Richard has poems and short stories in print and online with literary magazines such as Sky Forest, Hudson View, Short Story Library, Ottawa Arts Review, Dublin Quarterly, The Danforth Review, Other Voices International, Rubicon Publishing, Writer’s Block, The Foliate Oak, Parenting Express, and Skyline Magazine.      

Richard lives with wife, Esther, in Truro, Nova Scotia. Since Richard’s stroke in 1999, he and Esther have co-authored three novels, available at www.synergebooks.com.

Footprints is about Joe, who receives an anonymous letter stating he has a 14 year old son he is not aware of. He hopes this information does not affect his recent marriage to a wonderful lady with two children. Joe’s desire to find his missing son puts a strain on everyone. This Adult novel deals with relationships.

Someone's Son is about Sheldon, who has overcome hurting these past three years. He has been the man of the house since his father moved out. Now dad is back and wants to spend time with him. Into the Fire is about Troy, who has no real friends, only an imaginary one, JC. Without him, Troy might not be able to cope with living in the country, since dad took up drinking. Troy has to be the man of the house because a terrible accident killed mom three months ago. Then a mystery changes everything.
