Alison DeLory
Alison returned to Halifax in 2007 after 18 years in Toronto where she studied and practised journalism. Now a freelance writer and editor, she has published articles on health care, fitness, nutrition, forestry, economics, books, education, agriculture, travel and lifestyle in the Medical Post, Drugstore Canada, Pharmacy Practice, New Pharmacist, Pharmacy Student Career Guide, Ryerson Magazine, Halifax Magazine, Progress, Progress R&D, Healthy Living in Atlantic Canada, Optimyz, Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, Canadian Grocer, Macleans.ca and Chatelaine.com. While associate editor with Rogers Media Publishing, Alison received Top 10 Canadian Business Communicator recognition at the 2004 Kenneth R. Wilson National Business Publishing Awards. She also teaches writing workshops, performs academic editing including journal papers and PhD theses, prepares reports and critiques web sites. Alison is working on a guidebook about safe medication use called Take as Directed that will be published by ECW Press in 2010 and has several pieces of fiction in development.
